Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to x-ray the way that international cooperation can diminish the impact of unconventional threats in cross-border areas. The intensification of international cooperation is a stringent condition in combating unconventional threats. Starting from the identification and elimination of the causes of cross-border criminal phenomena, as well as their unpredictable evolution, it is necessary to develop long-term strategies. In the empirical research, we used the observation as a research method, but also the documentary analysis, this paper being based mainly on explanatory research. The approach regarding the analysis of the importance of international cooperation in the context of combating unconventional cross-border threats is the starting point in the development of a much broader research, which aims to analyze in a much more elaborate way, the implications of international organizations in combating cross-border crime.
