Summary/Abstract: The rural novel emphasizes the peasant's effort to preserve the land he works and which offers him, in addition to ensuring a decent living and food for his own family, a recognized social status in the rural universe. The lack of economic thinking reveals the errors produced by the villagers in the work of the land and the marketing of their own production. Before the Second World War, the peasantry faced the harsh conditions imposed by the landlords and tenants who exploited them to work the land. With the ownership of land, they have only one goal: not to give up the land they work with the sweat of their brow. And, finally, to capitalize on the production obtained through work.
