Summary/Abstract: This paper tries to illustrate the way that Classicism and Romanticism represented the main source for Grigore Alexandrescu`s formation as an authentic Romanian writer. The writer developed the social and historical poetry as part of his Romantic part, but on the other side, he created fables and epistles that revealed his classical formation. His literary power and authenticity are proved by his literary creations, Grigore Alexandrescu being considered the first modern writer.
