The idea of green roofs as a tool for solving urbanization problems of big cities – case study of Gdansk

Summary/Abstract: The article presents synthetically the issues related to the life of cities and indicates the directions of actions to mitigate their negative impact. Increasingly, the implementation of Western pro-ecological standards is noticeable in the Polish urban space. This manifests itself in the use of green infrastructure to improve the living conditions in the city. An interesting aspect in relation to the issue regarding green infrastructure are green roofs – showing a positive impact on shaping urban life.
