Summary/Abstract: The history of drugs is always an exciting and fascinating subject of research. Drugs are as old as mankind; the only difference is in their use. Formerly, the use of drugs was restricted to the upper classes of adult males, on the occasion of special ceremonies, to enhance affiliation to the group. Nowadays there are no constraints on their use, which is no longer confined to adults but is increasingly widespread among the youth without any social control. Drugs and music are increasingly the focus bringing young people together in the great festivals and enjoyments of the subjects of this new kingdom. The pilgrimage of drug addicts on their common journey to the east is made by thousands of young people from the world over, hurrying to experience nirvana and achieve a state of purity of spirit and the peace of absolute love in the shade of some Buddhist temple or on the beaches of Goa.
