The impact of the economic crisis on the labour force’s external migration

Summary/Abstract: In the article entitled “The impact of the economic crisis on the labour force’s external migration’’ there can be found an analysis of the economic crisis phenomenon, the causes that led to it and the impact it has both on the persons who migrated as a labour force abroad as well as the impact it has on the relatives left in the country. The stress is focused on the economic impact (lack of jobs, diminished revenues, unemployment for those who worked legally, etc), without ignoring the social aspect (social stigmatizing and exclusion of the Romanian immigrants, social labelling and isolation, rejection and passing-by etc). The research methods that are used are the observation, the interview and the “life story report” method. Through these it should be pointed out the way in which the present economic crisis marked the people who left abroad and those left behind in the country, respectively their families. It will also pointed out the social service’s role and importance in social reintegration of those returning back home due to lack of employment in the migration country, respectively the support granted to their families if in need .
