Summary/Abstract: The article presents several variants of the Golem myth, accompanied by some interpretations proposed by the author. Starting from the motif of the "terror of history" acting upon the Jewish people as suggested by Mircea Eliade and from the psycho-historical analyses of the Jewish condition, the study attempts to find the Golem figure in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but also in the recent top technical devices. The general conclusion is that the Golem mythology defeats time, camouflaged today under the most unexpected masks. It also accounts to a large extent for the deep grounds invisible to the profane eye on which was based the ample historical process of emancipation.
