Summary/Abstract: The edition of religious books (Bible, catechisms, postillas) allow to state that the need of deeper Christian faith was an overriding factor to be observed in Poland in 16. and 17. centuries. Thus, apologetic writings so characteristic for that times, though they seem to be rewarding for searching mutual dialogue and understanding amidst Chris-tians, were not the only reason for publishing religious books four hundred years ago in Poland.
