Summary/Abstract: In the second half of the 16th century Jesuits from the Polish and Lithuanian Republic started setting up their units on the missionary territories, one of which was Siedmiogród. Stefan Batory, the elected king of Poland, attempted to send Priest Jakub Wujek to his fatherland. Having founded colleges in Poznań and Vilnius Academy, he was considered by the monarch as well as by his clerical superiors the most suitable person for the mission. In 1579 the future translator of the Bible started his job in Koloshvarosh, where the college started its work at the beginning of 1584 and plans were being made to open the Papal Seminary.
