INVESTIGATING FAST-GROWING COMPANIES FROM ROMANIA

Summary/Abstract: Fast-growing companies are companies that display rapid growth. They have several characteristics comparing with other non fast-growing companies. Talking about fast growth is not a simple thing. There are many studies about companies growth focused on why and how are growing (internally or externally). Our review literature revealed some key factors influencing rapid growth: entrepreneur characteristics, resources, location, economic context, internal management. We found many barriers to company growth coming from external environment. Not only large companies are growing fast. Every small firm has a potential to grow. Many of them are growth oriented firm. SMEs are growing because of entrepreneurs decisions. In Romania, SMEs sector has not developed as rapidly as expected. Fast-growing companies are important for local and regional development.
