Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the Polish translation of Pedro Lemebel’s My Tender Matador shows the influence of cultural and linguistic aspects of the text in the translator’s practice and at the same time points to the fact that what is considered to be a translator’s strategy often occurs to be a result of negotiations between various participants of the editing process.
