Summary/Abstract: We are currently witnessing a resurrection of interest in plants with curative properties after a period of time when the medical act and healing in itself have been deeply technologized. Traditional cures, created with plants bearing healing properties, have come to be seen for a while as an attribute of times past, of communities characterized by an archaic mentality inaccessible to the majority of those who have lived in the second half of the 20th century and the first part of the 21st century. Time and modern medicinal plant-based therapies have, however, proven that never has the desire to know and use products crafted with the help of these plants been more alive than now. Moreover, there are even entire communities – as is the special case of the Poienii de Jos village in Bihor County – that have developed and perpetuated a lifestyle centered around capitalizing on medicinal plants in day-to-day life.
