Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at revealing another aspect of hierarchs and their cultural significance for the evolution of the Romanian literature. The beginning of our literature is in the seventeenth century on the sign of the biblical texts. Metropolitans Varlaam and Dosoftei are the first poets in our literature, who gave models and inspire other writers. The last century gave us the metropolitan Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania who put together the theolog and the writer in the same heart. Now the only metropolitan poet is Ioachim Giosanu who continues to be a poetic conscience.
