Summary/Abstract: In her novel ”Transcendent Kingdom” Yaa Gyasi writes about real living people, about family conflicts and tragedies, about the clash between religion and science, but also friendship and love. Her novel is not a simple story; it is rather Vibrant Life transposed into fiction, her subconscious exploding into words. The core of this powerful life-writing is the tragedy which ruins the family and will be following Gifty throughout her youth and maturity. This article aims at tracing back significant marks of life-writing in Gyasi’s novel by pinpointing pivotal scenes and characters.
