Summary/Abstract: The metamorphoses suffered by the Romanian peasant left their mark on the Romanian novelist's literary debut in the sense that Rebreanu made his debut with the brilliant prose called "Ion" in 1920, a very engaging novel with great openness to the real goal. Rebreanu's mysticism is very clear, that's why every novel is an ode to God, for which Rebreanu has a great devotion. Whether it's Ion, or the Apostle Bologa everyone is in the light of a devouring mysticism. The typical Transylvanian character in Rebreanu's prose is a thirst for the absolute, crushed by a lack of perfection and no one wants to live to the fullest.
