Summary/Abstract: As a young man, Mircea Eliade believed that literature is based on direct experience and that writing means to a large extent to transcribe what you really experienced. As a follower of the aesthetics of authenticity, he perfectly understands the usefulness and spiritual force of a diary. At the base of his literary creation is an act of existence, an experience, which does not yet have an initiatory dimension. The idea of initiation appears to him after the encounter with Indian spirituality. India taught Eliade what a traditional society means, it helped him understand to what degree of freedom the individual can reach with the help of mystical-magical techniques, but especially through yoga and tantra.
