Summary/Abstract: The present article focuses on interjections and onomatopoeic in Romanian as deictic structures. Due to their multiple uses and meanings, these parts of speech are extensively analyzed and classified from phonetic, structural, semantic and syntactic points of view. The theoretical approach is also supported by a series of relevant examples excerpted from literary works that contributed to a clearer highlighting of the distinctive features of these two parts of speech. In conclusion, the article is a significant step forward to a better understanding of the language facts that characterize these two linguistic units.
