Summary/Abstract: The article highlights the need for early diagnosis of autistic disorder (ASD) in children. The authors have indicated the symptoms of ASD in the field of social interaction, speech and communication, play and specific interests and activities that can be observed in the early years of a child's life. Attention is drawn to the frequent co-occurrence of sensory integration disorders. The research has been carried out by means of a case study of a three-year-old boy diagnosed with ASD and accompanying spectrum of difficulties in processing sensory stimuli. The research results have been presented together with the suggestion of therapeutic activities necessary in working with a child diagnosed with ASD, including early development support (EDS), special education (KS) and specialized care services (SUO).
