Summary/Abstract: In discussions of short story it has always been about identity and aesthetic value. If in modernism we speak especially about the importance of language in short story, in postmodernism we are in front of a valuable and unique literature. The post-war period would revolutionize literature from the ground up, but in a harmonious way, proving to the whole literary landscape that the fear of short prose is unfounded, as long as its purpose, precisely aimed at providing a "different novel", a concentrated one, intended for the new reader related to the new type of writer, it proved to be a legitimate one.
