Summary/Abstract: The modern security environment is changing and is no longer the same as it was in the late 1990s. This means that with the development of civilization, security is constantly evolving, transforming and transforming. It is a continuous process, changing its character and structure. When analyzing the strategic security environment, it is necessary to realize the increase and importance of global disproportions and growing asymmetry. The conditions and challenges for the strategic security environment are of a different nature and are not comparable to those of the past. New threats have emerged, but often new challenges arise, which will be a threat to some entities and an opportunity for others. The ongoing technological processes, as a product of “invisible civilization”, will also influence the creation of a new world order, causing major transformations in the economy, social relations, and military technology, which in turn revolutionize the nature of armed conflicts. Russia without Ukraine will never rebuild the Russian - Soviet - Russian empire again. How important Ukraine is for Russia is evidenced by the words of Catherine II, who stated that Russia without Ukraine is like a man without a backbone. Western European countries as a result of demographic challenges, including the influx of refugees, a further decline in the number of births, and aging societies will lose their national identity. Taking into account these contents, it can be assumed that these situations may lead to conflicts, which may eventually turn into wars, or even by 2030? It seems that in the considered future solutions based on information technologies will dominate the functioning of the world even more. However, the lack of appropriate security measures and IT systems may not only constitute diagnosed threats, but also a challenge to exclude entire countries from functioning. The European Union, which is particularly worth emphasizing, is not a monolith. Large EU states have and pursue particular interests. Examples are provided by Western European policy in the projects, first of Nord Stream I and now Nord Stream II, where talks (consultations) on its implementation are still ongoing, and in fact it can only be a game of appearances. The national interests of the main interested states are overcoming European solidarity and this project will be implemented, just like the previous one. The interdependence and interpenetration of threats and challenges is and will be a feature of globalization.
