Summary/Abstract: Researching the evolution of biographical genres in relation to self-discourse from various historical eras, one can observe the importance of romanticism, but also of modernism in the development of most species. Their withdrawal from literature or the reduction of their importance coincided with the period of wars and the totalitarian phenomenon, which took possession of the language to use it in its interest. But because ideology does not have an absolute monopoly on man unless it persuades him to use the word against himself, these genres returned in force at the end of the twentieth century. Investigating the development of the diaristic genre, it has been observed that the poetics of these types of texts are claimed from uncertain concepts, such as naturalness and spontaneity, and that their uncertain status is due to the violation of some conventions of this species.
