Summary/Abstract: In this two-part article, the first part of which was published in “Nurt SVD”, vol. 152, no 2, I present an analysis of the documentation related to the events that took place in the town of Jedwabne in 1941. In this part I present issues related to justice and love as foundations of social coexistence, while deliberating on transgressions against these virtues. The last section of the article is devoted entirely to an attempt to answer the questions: what happened in the town of Jedwabne on 10th July 1941 and why.
