Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the influence between two indicators of sustainable development: "life expectancy at birth" and "greenhouse emissions". The research method used was simple linear regression. With the help of the correlogram, the direct and linear relationship between the two indicators was established, a study carried out on the data collected from TEMPO ONLINE for the period 2008-2020. The coefficients of the linear regression equation obtained indicated that the estimated life expectancy at birth is on average 82 years in the absence of greenhouse emissions, and the increase of greenhouse gases by 1000 tons of CO2 equivalent would lead to the decrease on average life expectancy by 0.00007 years. The correlation ratio obtained indicates the existence of a strong link between the two variables, highlighted by the regression model. The level of life expectancy was estimated for the years 2030 and 2050, starting from statistical data from the period 2008-2020, where in 2008 there was a life expectancy of 73 years, reaching in 2020 a life expectancy of 76 years. For greenhouse gases for the year 2030, the value of 61,000 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent was considered, and for 2050 the target provided by Agenda 2030 – climate neutrality, respectively 0 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent. The resulting level of life expectancy in 2030 was 78 years, respectively 82 years for 2050.
