Perspectives on digitization and innovation in agriculture

Summary/Abstract: Agriculture in the 21st century must produce enough high-quality food for more than 9 billion inhabitants without increasing the area of production, while limiting the ecological impact, with production having to increase by up to 70%. By introducing the new technologies required by digitalisation, digital agriculture will provide a shift towards efficiency, productivity and sustainability at the farm level as well as at the level of the whole sector, helping farmers to manage their properties much better, which will significantly contribute to a quality of life much more viable for farmers and consumers and an improvement in the quality of plant health, production and the quality of animal health.
