Summary/Abstract: In the introductory part the author’s point of departure was the fact that he basis, foundation has not been fully analysed, because it was published for the first time during the period 1939 —1941 and that the discussion is yet to be expected. The second part is devoted to Marx’s own thoughts on the work. Since these thoughts have not been publicly announced the author of this paper came into their possession on the strength of correspondence between Marx and certain friends during the writing of the Basis. The relation of the Basis to the Manuscript and Capital is the subject of the third part of he paper. It is stated that Marx's Manuscript from 1844 by character represents the emergence of a critique of political economy. The character of the beginnings, according to the author, does not diminish its significance. The Basis is to be regarded as the path to Capital, but incomplete. In their incomplete form they offer a system of economic theory, while the method of presentation is still far away from the method applied in Capital. The. Manuscript, Basis and Capital represent portions of the total of Marx's economic thought. The Manuscript designates the beginning, starting phase, The Basis the most important part of the phase of maturing, while Capital represents the final phase of Marx’s economic system. In the fourth part the author states the categories and laws which represent the substance of the Basis. The presentation of this substance is effected in the order used by Marx in the Basis, which is different from that used in the Capital. The treating of the Basis as a phase of maturing of Marx’s economic thought is the subject of the fifth part. The author’s point of departure is that Marx himself thought The Basis as incomplete. He then states that the theory of value. — the starting basis of modem economic thought and the main analitical tools of market economy — did not acquire its appropriate place in Marx’s manuscripts. Finally there is some mention of the undevelopment of certain economic categories in the Basis. The sixth part contains several conclusions. Firstly it is stated that the Basis judged but its scepe is multilateral and that they are more than the actual critical appraisal of the fundamental economic laws of the capitalist method of production, for they often exceed the analyses of the economic structure of society, reaching other spheres of the rich social and economic structure of capitalism. The author thinks that for a full assessment of the Basis of special importance are the questions related to a/the historic character of capitalism, b/the doctrine on nonclass society, which is in close connection with the first question, and с/Marx' scientific method, devoting more room for them.
