Consequences of Refugee Processes Triggered by Armed Conflicts for Host Countries

Summary/Abstract: Armed conflicts cause many negative consequences, which include refugee processes. Populations fleeing persecution find a place of safety in other countries. The aim of this article is to show the correlation between refugee processes and host countries. The first part will be devoted to theoretical considerations regarding the definition of a refugee and political conflict. In the second part, the possible consequences for the host country will be presented. The third part of the article deals with the transformation of the host state from a passive actor in the conflict to the position of an active player.
