Summary/Abstract: The migration to the online environment of a ritual still active in the village border certifies, once again, the fact that folklore is the mirror of a community dependent on technological evolution and social dynamics. Thereby, a crisis situation opens new forms of ceremonial manifestation, reactivating and, at the same time, projecting extended visibility at a global level on the habit of caroling in the men's crowd from Făgăraș County. The pandemic context led to the emergence of „digital groupsˮ in the online environment, and this game has become important from a social and ethnological point of view. The zonal identity and traditions of the place become relevant only when the demonstration of the antiquity and authenticity of a custom is accompanied by its recovery, community participation and - in extreme conditions - its reinvention by looking for new development frameworks.
