Summary/Abstract: This study identifies the existing model of handling the circulation of electronic documents at the Jagiellonian Library (Pol. Biblioteka Jagiellońska, BJ) and attempts to create an original model of electronic document management. The research was carried using the case study method. The participant observation technique and direct interviews were employed to collect the data. As a result of the research, a model of electronic document circulation has been proposed. Within this method, it is crucial to eliminate physical data carriers in the collection-forming process and digitalize the process of archiving files. It may contribute to shortening the process each electronic document needs to go through before reaching the user. In the future, this analysis may help develop further research projects on improving the management of IT processes in libraries.
