Summary/Abstract: This year's verdict of the Nobel Committee of the Swedish Academy attracted special media attention and became the cause of many polemics. There were two reasons for this - firstly, because two prizes were awarded, and secondly, one of the winners, Peter Handke, was and is still very controversial. The Serbian and Croatian media also did not remain outside the general trends, not questioning the validity of awarding O. Tokarczuk with the Nobel Prize in Literature, but lively discussing the choice of the second laureate. One thing that should be emphasized here is that their statements regarding P. Handke had a completely different tone: while Croatian journalists did not hide their indignation about this, Serbian ones expressed their satisfaction, which is related to the Austrian writer's statements about the last war in the Balkans.
