Summary/Abstract: In Iraq, the education is, as in Romania, administered by the government, more specifically by the Ministry of Education. The country experienced in the past the best systems of education in the region and enjoyed a special reputation for the pre-university and academic system. But in the last two decades, the education in Iraq became problematic. The fall of Sadam Hussein’s regime, in 2003 and the invasion of the United States destabilized the education system and quality has constantly deteriorated.
