Cultural and educational life in the village Ivancha, Veliko Tarnovo region (1878–1944)

Summary/Abstract: The article is part of the author`s future book about her native village, titled “The History of the village Ivancha, Veliko Tarnovo region (until 1945)”. It`s given the basic outline of the development of the local school “G. S. Rakovski”, established in 1850, as well as of the local school “Zemedelec”, found in 1896, in the period from 1878 until 1944. It is emphasized the high educational culture of some community center leaders – villagers with secondary school education, with vivid spirit and aim for applying the achievements of the Agricultural science in the tillage of land. It stands out that Grigor Petrov Vladkov and Angel Jordanov Vladkov have maintained their own personal libraries and have kept personal diaries.
