A new book by prof. Aleksandra Kumanova – “Hristo Mutafov. Aurea mediocritas”

Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the edition is preceded by a brief biographical record of Prof. Dr. med., PhD Hristo Georgiev Mutafov which describes him as an acknowledged leader in the field of medical information science in Bulgaria. The specific genre of the book chosen by Prof. Al. Kumanova – “a cognitologic portrait in the interview style” is also commented upon. The analysis points out that the first structural part “Book 1. A cognitologic portrait in the interview style: On the efforts to bring Bulgaria closer to the global science and information practice” carries information of a personal-individual nature, as well as historical information on the development of the National Center for medical information science which existed between 1964–2002. The second structural part “Book 2. Systematic-chronological-alphabetical biobibliography” – the author claims – is yet another proof of the high professional competences of Prof. Al. Kumanova as a bibliographer practitioner and cognitologist.
