Summary/Abstract: This review presents a monograph by Maria Mitskova, dealing with Revival ideas and concepts of literary language according to the content of prefaces of books published from the 1820s through the 1870s. The author highlights the contributions of the study which sheds new light on the evolution of philological thought during the National Revival period through a multi-faceted analysis of hitherto unexplored authors’ ideas and concepts.
