ARCHIVE DOCUMENTS OF THE EDUCATION INSPECTORATE FOND IN PRIZREN

Summary/Abstract: One of the fonds that is of special importance for the recognition of the development of Albanian education in Kosovo is the fond of the Inspectorate of Education in the Prefecture of Prizren (1941-1945). The documents stored in this fund enable us to enlighten important aspects of the history of education in Kosovo in for the mentioned period. Through them we are enabled to know the historical and political circumstances of the time, the names and location of the schools facilities, the names of the responsible persons of the Inspectorate, as well as other pedagogical aspects that are important enough to write the history of Albanian education in Kosovo in the years 1941-1944. The fond of documents of the Inspectorate of Education in Prizren, constitute facts that prove the proper commitment of the great intellectuals of the time, such as: Ernest Koliqi, Mehmet Gjevori, Tajar Hatipi, etc., as well as the awareness of the people for the development of education in the Albanian language etc..
