WOMEN ACTIVITY IN THE ALBANIAN NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE

Summary/Abstract: Movement O.N.D.Sh in general could be considered as the first anti-communist movement of democratic character after the Second World War. The role of women in this movement is altruist and very important. The N D SH committee is one of the foundational segments of this movement in which again women bared the burden on their shoulders becoming inseparable part e decisive factor within organization. Even though their endeavors were not crowned with a success they gave a unique and unquestionable example of their contribution not only as women endeavor but also of entire Albanian population in Kosovo. The engagement of the women in all spheres of this committee itself as well as its democratic character gives it multiple meaning of national dimensions. At the same time it testifies that Kosovo had an emancipated society in which women fought side by side with men.
