THE EFFECT OF STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP ON ORGANIZATIONAL OPPOSITION: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE (GIRESUN UNIVERSITY EXAMPLE)

Summary/Abstract: Every organization operates to achieve its goals. While performing these activities, all units of the organization do their work in line with a certain strategy and in integrity. Since the most important unit is management, it is more likely to reach the goal in organizations with strategic leaders. Apart from reaching the goal, strategic leadership also has the feature of preventing all negative thoughts and actions that may be experienced within the organization. Thus, a healthy, peaceful, high-performance and productive organizational climate can be achieved. The main purpose of this study is to determine the mediating role of organizational climate in the effect of strategic leadership on organizational opposition. The sample of this study, in which quantitative analysis method was used, consists of Giresun University employees (n= 396). As a result of the study, it is seen that there are positive relations between strategic leadership and organizational climate. On the other hand, negative relationships are observed between strategic leadership and organizational opposition, and between organizational climate and organizational opposition. In addition, according to the findings obtained from the research, it has been determined that organizational climate has a mediating role in the effect of strategic leadership on organizational opposition.
