Summary/Abstract: Timidly launched in the Romanian interwar culture, treated with multiple circumspections and ironies, feminism has the potential to set grounds for some fierce debates, converting into a new movement, with an astonishing force, which will not be stopped until it has become one of the greatest social and literary themes of post modernity. In this study, we follow the evolution of the concept on Romanian ground in the interwar period, analyzing the literary profiles of two writers with a profound impact in the era, although of different value caliber: Hortensia Papadat-Bengescu and Sorana Gurian. The concept was to be reconfigured in postmodernity, thus validating the connection between literature and evolving society.
