Summary/Abstract: The folk tradition of the ritual treatment of sterility in women is present in all nations of the world and it is understood with certain specificities. On this occasion, some stones or a complex of stones were particularly striking, as in our case, which were extracted with some specificity that distinguished them from other common stones. The stone, which still exists today in the village of Lešnica in the municipality of Želino, is distinguished by its sanctity, which derives primarily from the opening through which the body of sterile women is ritually passed. The sterile woman, passing through the opening of the stone, returns in a symbolic way to her embryonic state, or better said through the so-called regressus ad uterum (return to the uterus), she simulates death and symbolic birth, and it is understood in a new state that also implies that pregnancy is soon going to happen.
