Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the intra-organizational view on the phenomenon of whistleblowing. The study aims to provide insights into the perception of whistleblowing and whistleblowers, factors that encourage and discourage employees from reporting irregularities and explores preferred channels of whistleblowing. The study employs qualitative methods, and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted in a company from the finance sector. The results imply that even if employees perceive whistleblowing as a moral act and organizational duty, various factors influence their ethical dilemma and final ethical choice. In addition, the study suggests that employees favor internal over external channels when reporting wrongdoing.
