Possibilities of Development of Knowledge Based Economy in B&H

Summary/Abstract: Because of turbulent and dynamic changes in the environment, knowledge has become the most important resource that can be used for building competitive advantages of every country. This paper aims at placing B&H in the context of the four elementary principles of the knowledge based economy, as follows: Educated and Skilled Labour Force, an Adequate Information Structure, a Conductive Economic and Institutional Regime and Human Resources. In addition, the paper considers the possibility of producing, transmissing and transfering knowledge in the current social circumstances in B&H, providing an overview of the existing strategies for knowledge application and development in B&H. To fulfill the mentioned goal authors have used Knowledge Assessment Methodology (KAM) which was developed by the World Bank Institute.
