Summary/Abstract: The article confronts two narratives related to the territory on which large productionplants were situated: one by the German Third Reich and the other by the Poland’s“recovered territories.” The author examines how local history modifies the memory ofa contaminated territory. Starting with the concept of the rhizome, the author analyzesthe adjacencies, similarities, and demarcation lines employed by the narrators.
