Summary/Abstract: The object of the present study is to verify the psychological effects that musical audition produces on the specific manifestations associated with stress. The introductory section presents the anatomical elements underlying the associations between listening to a musical work and its emotional and visceral effects on the body, with an emphasis on the relationship between the emotional perception of music and stress modulation mechanisms. The investigation of the proposed aspects was done on a sample of 30 students with the help of some recorded musical fragments, accompanied by a questionnaire that includes questions related to three aspecs, namely: the level of reception of the subject; the state of the subject before and after the audition; possible extra auditory projections or connections. Following the results obtained, it can be stated that the audition of the selected musical works produces positive changes in the inner state of most of the participating subjects.
