Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, companies operate in such an intense competitive environment that adapting to change and reengineering business processes in order to gain competitive advantage and attract new customers is the main concern of any entity. The reengineering of business processes by optimizing and streamlining activities involves changes that have an impact at the individual level, as well as at the organizational level and at the customer level, therefor the success of these efforts must be maximized as much as possible. The factors that can determine the success and failure of reengineering processes are further described in this paper, being outlined both on the basis of the studies carried out and on the basis of the experiences shared by researchers in the field following the application of the reengineering process at organizations level.
