PRIMELE EDIȚII ALE FESTIVALULUI INTERNAȚIONAL DE TEATRU DE LA SIBIU ÎN PAGINILE ZIARULUI TRIBUNA 1993-1998
The First Editions of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival as Reflected in Tribuna Newspaper (1993-1998)

Summary/Abstract: In the context of the 30th anniversary of the Sibiu International Theater Festival, this study proposes an approach to reconstructing the first editions of this major cultural project of the Sibiu community, from the perspective of how it was reported by one of the oldest printed newspapers from Sibiu and from Transylvania, the newspaper Tribuna from Sibiu, founded in Sibiu in 1884, by Ioan Slavici. The present study aims to analyse how the Sibiu newspaper presented the new cultural project to its readers and how the evolution of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival in the first five editions was presented in the newspaper's pages. The articles published by the Tribuna newspaper between 1993-1998 offers us an overview of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival at its beginnings and the possibility to reconstruct its course as it was reported by one of the traditional newspapers of the Sibiu community, being an example of how the community related to the festival through its oldest publication.
