Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this article is to present selected educational methods used by the Department of Education of the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom as an example of good practice that can be used in other centers within the framework of enchmarking. The presented analysis seeks to demonstrate the possibilities of using educational activities in museums to give their model a more participatory character by educating new visitors. The text presents the goals and methods of museum education based on descriptions of specific museum lessons carried out within the permanent ethnographic exhibition of the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom. Presented lessons are examples of regional education effectively carried out through games and activities and with the use of the methods of Maria Montessori.
