Summary/Abstract: This paper is a review of seminars, panels, and other events presented at the 2023 ESRA (European Shakespeare Research Association) conference, held at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest in July 2023. A general outline of the main themes of the conference is then followed by brief discussion of specific sessions. The programme of this major forum demonstrates that a number of current challenges which contemporary society is currently facing are being reflected in Shakespearean research, which acquires new forms and dimensions in the field of theoretical reception, but also in relation to creative practice – theatre, visual arts, film, documentary, music, and pop culture.
