Summary/Abstract: The article interprets the imperial constitutions in the title CTh.9.24, their relationship to previous legal arrangements. The paper analyses the crime of raptus, its characteristics, the persons punishable for it and the punishments provided for them and traces the development of punishability and the consequences of the crime for the relationship between raptor and victim.
