Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at exploring the different types of love in Louise Erdrich’s ”The Antelope Wife” classifying love in four different categories: obsession – the relationships between Klaus and Sweetheart Calico, romantic love, further subdivided into bad relationships just like the one between Rozin and Richard and good relationships just like the one between Rozin and Frank after deciding to leave Richard, familial love, further subdivided into mother affection and father affection, and the bond between a dog and its owner represented by Almost Soup Dog, a loyal dog that stayed beside his owner through thick and thin. The bad relationships are toxic ones whereas the good relationships are those in which there is no more manipulation and finally freedom is reached.
