Summary/Abstract: A reply to the questionnaire on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Teksty Drugie: my personal views on literature, literary studies and other issues of consequence. Literature as an unpredictable ‘waste processing plant’ – it absorbs any and all types of public discourse, advertising slogans, political parties’ dictionaries, worldviews and ideologies, and it shows the scope of individual existence that can be expressed using them.
