Summary/Abstract: A reply to the questionnaire on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Teksty Drugie: my personal views on literature, literary studies and other issues of consequence. What’s most interesting in literary scholarship (i.e. in the study of entities constituted within the limits of certain languages) is its location on the borders between various sub-disciplines, as well as on the edge of opposing efforts: methods oriented toward analogies, interactions and impacts, based at times upon risky hypotheses or staying among exaggerations; closer as they are to the dynamism of artistic transformations, and susceptible to a larger extent to creative applications and developments.
